Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Offshore Wind

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their pioneering team dedicated to offshore wind projects. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to groundbreaking work from any location. You will be instrumental in evaluating soil conditions, designing foundations, and mitigating geotechnical risks for the development of expansive offshore wind farms. • Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations and analyses for offshore wind farm development, including site characterization and risk assessment.
• Design and optimize foundation systems (e.g., monopiles, jackets, gravity bases) for offshore wind turbines, considering complex soil-structure interactions.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee and interpret data from CPT, boreholes, seismic surveys, and laboratory testing.
• Collaborate with structural, naval, and installation engineers to ensure seamless integration of geotechnical designs into the overall project plan.
• Manage geotechnical aspects of project execution, including contractor liaison and quality control during offshore campaigns and construction.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in geotechnical engineering, with a significant focus on offshore projects.
• Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design for offshore structures, and numerical modeling techniques (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC).
• Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing offshore geotechnical investigation data.
• Strong understanding of offshore wind project life cycles and associated geotechnical challenges.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills, essential for a remote working environment and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
