Industrial Engineer - Plant Layout and Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and technically proficient Remote Industrial Engineer specializing in plant layout and design. This position allows you to contribute your expertise in optimizing physical spaces for maximum efficiency and safety, entirely from a remote location. You will be responsible for developing innovative layouts for new facilities and redesigning existing ones to improve material flow, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.

• Design and optimize plant and facility layouts to improve material flow, reduce handling costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Utilize 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, Plant Simulation) to create detailed layout designs and visualizations.
• Conduct simulation studies to evaluate the performance of different layout options and identify potential bottlenecks or safety concerns.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to gather requirements and ensure designs meet all functional, regulatory, and safety standards.
• Develop comprehensive documentation, including layout drawings, equipment specifications, and implementation plans.
• Ensure designs are cost-effective and align with long-term strategic objectives for facility utilization and expansion, contributing to efficient operations worldwide.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering with a specialization in facility layout and design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and plant simulation software.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material handling systems, and ergonomic principles.
• Excellent spatial reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
