Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Engineer for a fully remote position, supporting operations that may include projects near Richards Bay. This crucial role involves the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will leverage your extensive expertise to tackle complex drilling challenges, manage drilling programs, and contribute to innovative solutions in the oil and gas sector.

• Develop comprehensive drilling programs, including well design, casing, cementing, and completion strategies.
• Manage drilling operations from planning through execution, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Perform risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential drilling hazards.
• Optimize drilling parameters to improve efficiency, reduce non-productive time (NPT), and control costs.
• Supervise and mentor junior drilling engineers and rig personnel.
• Analyze drilling performance data and prepare post-drill reports and lessons learned.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering, including offshore and onshore operations.
• Proven ability to manage complex drilling projects and budgets.
• Strong understanding of drilling fluids, well control, directional drilling, and completion technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in drilling software and data analysis tools.
