Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Geoscientist with expertise in subsurface analysis to join their innovative team, supporting operations near Mossel Bay . This role is crucial for interpreting geological and geophysical data to identify and characterize hydrocarbon resources. You will play a vital role in the exploration and development lifecycle, contributing essential insights that guide strategic decisions. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage advanced analytical techniques and collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other specialists in a forward-thinking oil and gas company , with the flexibility of a remote work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities- Integrate and interpret seismic, well log, gravity, and magnetic data to understand subsurface geology.
- Develop detailed subsurface models, including structural and strati graphic interpretations.
- Perform quantitative seismic interpretation and attribute analysis to delineate potential reservoirs.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers to define reservoir properties and estimate reserves.
- Contribute to exploration and development strategy formulation based on subsurface insights.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and prospect evaluations for management.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, or a related geoscience field.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in oil and gas exploration and development.
- Proficiency in industry-standard interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Geolog, Landmark).
- Strong understanding of seismic processing, inversion, and attribute analysis techniques.
- Experience with data management, QC, and geological/geophysical workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
