About the Role Our client, a major telecommunications entity in Klerksdorp , is seeking a highly skilled Telecoms Systems Engineer to enhance their technical operations. This role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of complex telecommunications systems and platforms that underpin their service delivery. You will work on cutting-edge technologies, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the network. This hybrid position allows for collaboration within the office and focused work from home, contributing to the technological advancements within the North West province's telecoms sector.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement robust and scalable telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and mobile platforms.
- Optimize system performance, capacity planning, and resource utilization to meet growing demands.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Manage the lifecycle of telecommunications systems, including planning for upgrades, patches, and end-of-life replacements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems and services.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications.
- Over 8 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale telecoms systems.
- In-depth knowledge of telecommunications protocols, standards, and technologies (e.g., VoIP, SIP, LTE, 5G).
- Proven experience with network virtualization, cloud-based infrastructure, and related technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system optimization.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with experience in project management.
