Process Safety Engineer - Remote

Our client requires a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team, operating on a fully remote basis. This critical role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety across all operational processes, minimizing risks, and protecting personnel and the environment. You will conduct comprehensive safety assessments, develop risk mitigation strategies, and promote a robust safety culture. The position is ideal for an experienced safety professional who is adept at working autonomously and collaborating effectively with diverse teams across different time zones, all from the comfort of their own home office.

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Design and implement safety systems, such as emergency shutdown systems and relief devices.
• Provide technical expertise and training on process safety to engineers and operational staff.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related safety discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with safety software and tools for risk modeling and analysis.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills for remote engagement.
