Remote Process Development Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to join their fully remote team, based anywhere in South Africa . In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and refining novel chemical processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and sustainability. You will leverage your expertise in chemical engineering principles to analyze experimental data, design pilot-scale studies, and contribute to the scale-up of new products and technologies.

• Design and conduct experiments to evaluate and optimize new chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and present findings to R&D and engineering teams.
• Develop process models and simulations to predict performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Oversee pilot plant operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of trials and data collection.
• Write detailed technical reports and documentation for process development activities.
• Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, analytical chemists, and manufacturing personnel.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or research within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment and pilot plant operations.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts remotely.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
