About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Engineer to lead critical expansion projects for their chemical plant facility in Randburg . This role will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful completion of major capital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. You will manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from conceptualization and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a solid background in chemical engineering, and a proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external contractors. - Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Coordinate with internal departments (engineering, operations, procurement) and external vendors and contractors.
- Oversee project design, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely completion.
- Manage project finances, track expenditures, and ensure cost control measures are in place.
- Lead project team meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical or process industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects from conception to completion.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2) and tools.
- Experience with P&IDs, process design, and equipment selection.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
