About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Process Design Chemical Engineer to contribute to their engineering and project execution team based in Port Elizabeth . This role will involve developing conceptual and detailed designs for new chemical processes and facilities, as well as modifications to existing plants. You will work on a variety of projects, utilizing your expertise in process modeling, equipment selection, and P&t.

- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new chemical plants and process modifications.
- Perform process simulations and calculations to determine equipment sizing and operating conditions.
- Select appropriate chemical process equipment (e.g., reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers) based on design requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimations for new process designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, and control engineers.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 6 years of experience in process design and engineering for the chemical industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and CAD tools.
- Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, equipment design, and industry best practices.
- Experience in conducting technical reviews and P&-downs.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project execution skills.
