Senior Automotive Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team in Richards Bay . This role is critical for the design, development, and testing of automotive components and systems. You will be involved in conceptualizing new designs, performing detailed engineering analysis, and overseeing prototype development and validation. • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, ensuring performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to validate designs.
• Oversee prototype development, build, and testing, analyzing results to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues encountered during the design, testing, or manufacturing phases.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive mechanical design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, AutoCAD) and CAE tools (FEA, CFD).
• Strong understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
