Chemical Engineer - Water Treatment

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer specializing in water treatment solutions to join their innovative team, supporting operations remotely and based loosely in the Stellenbosch region. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimization of chemical processes for water purification, wastewater treatment, and industrial water management. • Design and develop chemical treatment processes for various water applications (potable, industrial, wastewater).
• Select and specify appropriate chemicals, equipment, and dosing systems.
• Monitor and analyze water quality parameters, adjusting treatment strategies as needed.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot trials for new water treatment technologies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and discharge standards.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing water treatment facilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, coagulation, flocculation, disinfection, and filtration.
• Experience with water treatment plant operations and process optimization.
• Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and permitting.
