Civil Engineer - Geotechnical Specialist; Remote

Our client is actively recruiting a skilled Civil Engineer with a specialization in geotechnical engineering to join their fully remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert geotechnical analysis and design recommendations for a variety of infrastructure and construction projects nationwide. Working from your home office, you will leverage your deep understanding of soil mechanics and foundation design to ensure project stability and safety.

This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who excels in remote work environments and can effectively communicate complex geotechnical concepts to diverse project teams, contributing to the successful planning and execution of critical developments.

• Perform geotechnical investigations, including site assessments and soil testing analysis.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks based on comprehensive geotechnical evaluations.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, calculations, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and contractors to address geotechnical challenges remotely.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Review and interpret laboratory testing results to inform design decisions for projects in areas like Durban .

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, Geo Studio suite).
• Experience in ground improvement techniques and slope stability analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex soil conditions.
