Remote Geotechnical Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Remote Geotechnical Engineer to join their innovative team, supporting operations nationwide. This position is ideal for an expert who can provide critical geotechnical analysis and recommendations without the need for on-site presence. You will be responsible for evaluating ground conditions, designing support systems, and assessing slope stability for various mining projects, all managed through a remote work setup.

This role offers the flexibility and autonomy of working from anywhere, coupled with the challenge of contributing to significant mining projects, ensuring safety and operational integrity from a distance.

• Perform detailed geotechnical assessments of underground and open-pit mining environments remotely.
• Develop geotechnical models and stability analyses for excavations, slopes, and mine infrastructure.
• Recommend appropriate ground support systems and stabilization measures based on data analysis.
• Review and interpret geological and geotechnical data collected by field teams.
• Provide technical guidance and support to mine planning and operations personnel via digital platforms.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of geotechnical risk management strategies.

• MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience in the mining industry.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as Rocscience (Phase2, Slide), Maptek, or similar.
• Strong understanding of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and slope stability principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological and geotechnical data.
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
