Remote Mechanical Design Engineer - Consumer Products

Our client is looking for a creative and technically proficient Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to focus on innovative consumer products . This fully remote position allows you to contribute your expertise from anywhere while driving the design and development of next-generation consumer electronics. You will be integral to translating user needs and market trends into functional, aesthetically pleasing, and manufacturable mechanical designs.

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for consumer electronic devices, focusing on ergonomics and aesthetics.
• Utilize 3D CAD modeling tools to create detailed designs, prototypes, and production-ready drawings.
• Conduct tolerance analysis , material selection, and perform design-for-manufacturability (DFM) assessments.
• Work closely with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing partners in a remote capacity.
• Prepare technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and test procedures.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype testing, and root cause analysis for design-related issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the consumer electronics or product development sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works, Fusion 360, or similar platforms.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes relevant to consumer products (e.g., injection molding, stamping, CNC machining).
• Strong understanding of material properties and selection for consumer applications.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team setting.
