Industrial Engineer - Process Improvement

Our client is looking for a dedicated Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on process improvement to join their team in Richards Bay . This hybrid role offers the opportunity to significantly impact operational efficiency by analyzing, designing, and implementing robust solutions within a key industrial hub. You will work closely with site operations teams to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity, while also having the flexibility to work remotely on certain days.

The ideal candidate will be adept at using data analysis and lean methodologies to drive tangible improvements and contribute to the sustained success of our client's operations in Kwa Zulu-Natal .

• Conduct detailed analyses of manufacturing and operational processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization in Richards Bay .
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies, including Kaizen events, 5S implementation, and value stream mapping.
• Design and recommend improvements to production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems.
• Measure and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, quality, and cost, reporting on progress.
• Collaborate with production staff and management to ensure the effective adoption of new processes and systems.
• Support the integration of new technologies and automation to enhance operational capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and lean methodologies .
• Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio) and statistical analysis software.
• Experience with project management and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
