Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Grid Modernization Engineer to join their fully remote team. This critical position will drive the strategic vision and technical execution of projects aimed at modernizing our energy grid infrastructure. You will be at the forefront of integrating advanced technologies, such as smart meters, distributed energy resources, and advanced analytics, to create a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable power network.
This role offers the unique challenge of shaping the future of energy distribution from anywhere, collaborating with a geographically dispersed, high-performing team.
- Develop and implement strategies for grid modernization, focusing on areas like smart grid technologies, automation, and advanced metering infrastructure.
- Lead the technical design and engineering efforts for grid modernization projects, ensuring seamless integration of new systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their adoption to enhance grid performance and reliability.
- Oversee the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets for modernization initiatives.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence in a remote setting.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
PhD is a plus. - 10+ years of experience in power systems engineering, with a significant focus on grid modernization and smart grid technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Deep understanding of power system operations, control systems, and communication networks.
- Proven ability to work effectively and lead teams in a remote , collaborative environment.
- Expertise in standards such as IEEE 2030.5, IEC 61850, and relevant cybersecurity protocols.
