Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Structural Civil Engineer to join their team in Polokwane . This role is essential for leading the structural design and analysis of complex infrastructure projects, including bridges, buildings, and other load-bearing structures. You will ensure the integrity, safety, and durability of these structures, adhering to rigorous engineering standards. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams, contributing to the built environment of Limpopo province and ensuring high-quality outcomes for projects in and around Polokwane .
Key Responsibilities- Lead the structural design and analysis of various civil engineering structures, including bridges, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using advanced engineering software.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant national building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform site inspections and provide structural engineering support during the construction phase.
- Review and approve structural designs submitted by third-party consultants.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical development of the structural engineering department in Polokwane.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in structural design and analysis.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
- Expertise in structural analysis software such as SAP
2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar. - Thorough understanding of material properties, load calculations, and seismic design principles.
- Strong project management and communication skills, adept at working in a hybrid environment.
