Our client is seeking a dedicated Transportation Civil Engineer to join their innovative team in Pretoria . This role involves the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, urban roads, and public transport systems. You will contribute to improving mobility and connectivity within the Gauteng province and beyond, ensuring projects are safe, efficient, and sustainable. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate closely with urban planners, traffic engineers, and construction teams to deliver state-of-the-art transportation solutions that enhance the quality of life for residents in Pretoria .
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop plans for transportation infrastructure, including road alignment, intersection design, and traffic management systems.
- Perform traffic analyses and simulations to optimize road network performance and safety.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for highway and road projects.
- Ensure compliance with national road design standards, geometric design manuals, and safety regulations.
- Liaise with government authorities, municipalities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
- Contribute to project management, including cost estimation and scheduling for transportation initiatives in Pretoria .
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in transportation.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation engineering design.
- Proficiency in transportation design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, VISSIM, or SIDRA.
- Solid understanding of traffic engineering principles and road design standards.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments for transportation projects.
