About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Process Optimization Engineer to enhance the efficiency and productivity of their operations in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will analyze existing chemical processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven solutions to improve performance, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. You will work with advanced analytical tools and collaborate closely with plant personnel to achieve measurable improvements.

- Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, deviations, and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving process yield, throughput, and energy efficiency.
- Utilize statistical analysis and modeling techniques to predict and control process performance.
- Collaborate with operations teams to implement optimized process parameters and troubleshoot issues.
- Design and execute experiments (DOE) to validate process improvements and new operating conditions.
- Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, or continuous improvement roles.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, Python/R) and process simulation software.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Understanding of chemical manufacturing principles and equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
