Chemical Engineer - Sustainability Initiatives

Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Chemical Engineer to spearhead sustainability initiatives within their operations, based in Sandton . This role is dedicated to developing and implementing strategies that reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and promote sustainable practices across the company. You will work closely with various departments to integrate green chemistry principles and circular economy concepts into our manufacturing processes and product life cycles.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize emissions in chemical processes.
• Evaluate and integrate green chemistry principles and sustainable materials into product design and manufacturing.

• Collaborate with R&D, operations, and supply chain teams to promote circular economy practices.
• Stay updated on environmental regulations and industry best practices related to sustainability.
• Prepare reports and presentations on sustainability performance and initiatives for stakeholders.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in chemical engineering with a focus on environmental sustainability or process efficiency.
• Knowledge of green chemistry, life cycle assessment, and renewable energy technologies.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability reporting frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
