About the Role
Our client seeks a skilled Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their forward-thinking team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for the planning, design, and management of water infrastructure projects, including dams, pipelines, water treatment facilities, and stormwater management systems. You will contribute to ensuring sustainable water management and supply solutions, addressing critical resource challenges for communities in the Eastern Cape and beyond.
This remote position allows you to leverage advanced hydrological and hydraulic modeling tools and collaborate virtually with a global network of experts, driving innovative solutions from Port Elizabeth and your chosen location.
- Design and develop plans for water infrastructure, including supply, distribution, and treatment systems.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses, including flood modeling and water balance studies.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for water projects.
- Ensure designs comply with water resource management regulations, environmental standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to oversee construction and provide technical support remotely.
- Assess water resource availability and demand, proposing sustainable solutions for water security.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resources engineering design and project execution.
- Proficiency in water resources modeling software such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, or similar.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, hydrological processes, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent remote collaboration skills using digital platforms and communication tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project tasks effectively in a virtual setting.
