Environmental Health and Safety Officer

Our client is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Centurion . This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting a secure and sustainable workplace. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and driving a strong safety culture. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards within the operational environment.

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs .
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, regional, and national EHS regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver EHS training to employees at all levels of the organization.
• Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on EHS performance and activities.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an EHS role , preferably within a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Certification such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
