Railway Station Design CAD Technician / Designer

Location: UK Wide (Remote / Hybrid)
Rate: Circa £400 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Initial 6-month contract
Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Station Design CAD Technician/Designer to work on a busy rail infrastructure programme. This is a flexible contract position offering predominantly remote working, with attendance required initially for induction and equipment collection. Following this, work can be carried out from home with regular Teams meetings.

The Role

You will be producing and developing station design drawings for Network Rail projects, working independently and collaborating with the wider design team on a range of station enhancement and infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and modify station design drawings using CAD software.
  • Develop designs in accordance with Network Rail standards and requirements.
  • Work closely with engineers and project teams to deliver design packages.
  • Attend virtual design reviews and project meetings via Teams.
  • Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and issued to programme deadlines.
  • Support design assurance and technical compliance activities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working on Network Rail station design projects.
  • Strong CAD capability with the ability to complete your own design and drawing work independently.
  • Good understanding of rail design standards and station environments.
  • Experience producing design documentation within a rail infrastructure setting.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage your own workload.
