Dependent on experience, limited working available subject to personal circumstances. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager to join a major UK infrastructure programme delivering non-infrastructure wastewater projects. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, youll play a key role in managing the successful delivery of design solutions from concept through to construction. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days on site and two days working from home.
The Role As Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design delivery of wastewater projects, ensuring programmes, budgets, quality standards and client requirements are achieved while promoting innovative, low-carbon engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining and managing design scope and deliverables Reviewing and challenging design programmes Managing design changes and ensuring effective design control Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams Driving DfMA and low-carbon design solutions Facilitating design, coordination, buildability and technical review meetings Managing technical assurance and CDM reviews Implementing and overseeing BIM strategies in accordance with ISO 19650 Supporting Principal Designer responsibilities Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and health & safety requirements Building strong relationships with project, commercial, delivery and supply chain teams Supporting procurement and project delivery decision-making processes About You Were looking for a proactive and collaborative professional who can lead design teams and successfully deliver complex engineering projects.
Youll ideally have: HNC/HND or Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline Experience working within the UK water sector, particularly wastewater projects Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, ICA or Civil engineering disciplines Strong understanding of design delivery, design management and design procurement
Experience of BIM processes and ISO 19650 Working knowledge of NEC4 contracts
Experience of CDM 2015 Regulations Knowledge of sludge treatment and Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) systems Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Commercial awareness and programme management experience Full UK Driving Licence Progression towards Chartered status is desirable Whats on Offer?
