Automation Engineer

Our client is looking for an innovative Automation Engineer to join their remote-first team, supporting operations that impact their presence in East London and beyond. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions to enhance manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and ensure product quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams using digital collaboration tools, focusing on creating scalable and reliable automated systems.

• Design, program, and commission automated control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, speed, and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment and software, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
• Collaborate virtually with internal engineering teams, production staff, and external vendors to define automation requirements and solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and implement best practices.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for automation systems, including logic, schematics, and user guides.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proficiency in programming various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Mitsubishi).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software and robotics integration .
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ether Net/IP).
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with a strong ability to work independently.
