About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Electrical Engineer specializing in power systems design for a fully remote opportunity. Based anywhere, you will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and specifying electrical infrastructure for a variety of client projects, with a focus on reliability and efficiency. This role demands a strong understanding of power distribution, protection, and control principles, combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
You will work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team, contributing to impactful projects across diverse industries and ensuring high-quality technical outcomes.
- Perform detailed electrical design for medium and low voltage power distribution systems.
- Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, and wiring details using CAD software.
- Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
- Prepare technical specifications, equipment schedules, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and local regulations.
- Provide technical support during the procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Review designs from external consultants and vendors for compliance and quality.
- B.Eng or
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical power systems design.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, CYME, DIgSILENT Power Factory).
- Strong knowledge of electrical protection schemes and equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for electrical drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
