Senior Process Engineer - Remote

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their established operational team. This role is critical for optimizing and troubleshooting the complex processes involved in mineral extraction and refinement. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of our processing plants, working closely with site engineers and operators. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of chemical and physical processes within the mining industry, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

This is an on-site position requiring full dedication to the operational demands of the processing facility in Durban .

• Monitor and analyze plant operational data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in process performance.
• Develop and implement process modifications to enhance yield, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Ensure all processes comply with stringent health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to schedule and execute plant shutdowns and upgrades.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to plant operators.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in process engineering within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Proven expertise in process simulation, modeling, and optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of chemical reactions, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics relevant to mineral processing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
