Senior Structural Engineer; Mechanical Focus

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer with a strong focus on mechanical applications to join their innovative team, initially based in Pretoria , with potential for full remote work. This role requires a deep understanding of structural mechanics and its application to mechanical systems, machinery, and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of critical structures and components, providing expert analysis and design solutions.

• Perform advanced structural analysis and design for mechanical equipment, supports, and industrial structures.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications according to industry codes and standards.
• Conduct site assessments and inspections to evaluate existing structural integrity and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
• Manage structural engineering aspects of projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a strong structural focus.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in structural analysis and design.
• Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, ABAQUS) and structural design tools.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant building codes and engineering standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocode).
• Experience with seismic design and dynamic analysis is highly desirable.
