Our client, a growing business within the energy transmission and distribution sector, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of renewable energy projects in Yorkshire. The role will involve end-to-end cost management across solar installations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and upgrade and refurbishment projects valued from 10,000 to 2.2 million.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the commercial delivery of renewable energy, solar and BESS projects
Managing project costs from initial estimating and tendering through to final account
Preparing cost plans, valuations, forecasts and commercial reports
Monitoring project expenditure, budgets and financial performance
Working with NEC and FIDIC contract forms
Providing commercial support to project teams, subcontractors and suppliers
Identifying cost risks and supporting effective commercial decision-making
Working closely with the Graduate Engineer and Commercial Director
Job Requirements:
Understanding of quantity surveying and commercial management principles
Experience supporting construction, engineering, energy or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts
Ability to manage project costs from commencement through to completion
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and negotiation abilities
Excellent attention to detail and organised approach to work Relevant degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, engineering or a related discipline
