Odyssey has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) as a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Radar Systems Project Engineer to the Sensors Branch of the Combat Forces Command, Mission Delta 2, 2nd Sustainment Squadron (CFC MD2/2 STS). SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and act as force multipliers in times of conflict.

The MD2/2 STS Sensors Branch executes system acquisition, modernization, and sustainment for ground- and space-based SDA sensors and command and control (C2) systems. Activities include acquisition program management, system and subsystem engineering, maintenance and supply support, and fielding.
Odyssey provides A&AS support to the Government in five areas:
Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with USSF SSC and CFC depot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders.
This is a full-time position at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, CO with an opportunity for remote work 1 – 2 days per week at the discretion of the Government.
Responsibilities
An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government. As an SDA Radar Systems Project Engineer, you will perform a wide range of engineering tasks, research, studies, and analysis that provide engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering disciplines. You will provide A&AS support for the engineering and testing of Legacy SDA radar systems, including the Space Fence Radar on Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Develop engineering schedules and costs estimates; support the Program Manager to monitor and analyze cost and schedule performance
Draft, review, and provide input during the development of overarching system requirements and design documentation to include technical requirements documents (TRD); capability description documents (CDD); capability production documents (CPD); interface control documents (ICDs); system specifications and system, test and acceptance documentation
Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, and approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness
Provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering IPTs.Support development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenarios
Participate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/system delivery
Develop, plan, and implement, strategies; develop analysis; analyze and evaluate test results for complex system and subsystem test and evaluation activities; perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and procedures
Support the development of system test plans in accordance with project technical, schedule, and cost constraints, support site and system test activities with contractor and Program Office personnel
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules; identify program risks and mitigations
Coordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors other support contractors; monitor contractor performance during Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), fielding, Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Operational Acceptance (OA)
Identify and track development and sustainment risks in support of Government activities; develop and execute technology insertion and risk reduction strategies, studies, and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditions
