Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Senior Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) Professional (Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer, or Environmental or Health & Safety area disciplines) to support regional, national, and international EDD projects and programs, including project and portfolio management and client relationship support. This role can sit anywhere within the continental U.S.
As part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your expertise as a skilled Environmental Professional in the EDD realm, you will work closely with Arcadis’ established EDD Community of Practice (CoP) by supporting the production of high-quality Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) in accordance with the ASTM International (ASTM) Designation: E1527-21 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments:
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (ASTM E1527-21), as well as supporting associated projects such as limited compliance evaluations and planning Phase II ESAs.
- Thoroughly understand the ASTM International (ASTM) Designation: E1527 – 21 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments:
Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (ASTM E1527-21) and qualify as an Environmental Professional as defined by the Standard. - Become a core member of Arcadis’ established EDD CoP as a skilled Phase I ESA practitioner with the ability to conduct Phase I ESAs from start to finish, including but not limited to those at complex facilities or properties such as chemical plants, heavy manufacturing, active remedial sites, and/or corridor studies.
- Conduct site visits, interviews, and meetings. Travel (up to 25%) will be required
- Utilize experience and strong technical skills to both write and provide senior review of Phase I ESAs as an Environmental Professional.
- Assist the development and implementation of training and mentorship of junior colleagues supporting Phase I ESAs.
- Prepare proposals and deliver EDD projects facing with clients and Arcadis colleagues.
- Manage and coordinate Phase I ESA projects and portfolio work and support Phase II ESA planning.
- Review and evaluate complex regulatory permits and associated documentation and evaluate the environmental or health & safety regulatory compliance status of operating facilities to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Candidates must have a good driving record and be prepared to work outside in potentially inclement weather conditions. Work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous waste, and at facilities with manufacturing activities that are proprietary. Work may also be conducted at locations where discretion and exceptional professional demeanor is required, due to the confidential and sensitive nature of the Phase I ESA process.
