Remote Solar PV Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Remote Solar PV Design Engineer to contribute to their expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects from anywhere. This role involves the comprehensive design and technical specification of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. You will collaborate virtually with project managers, sales teams, and installation partners to ensure designs are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective.

• Perform detailed system design for solar PV installations, including site layout, component selection (panels, inverters, mounting structures), and electrical design.
• Generate engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and PVsyst.
• Conduct energy production modeling and performance analysis to optimize system output and financial returns.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, electrical standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate remotely with sales teams to provide technical support during the proposal phase and with installation partners during construction.
• Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for solar PV projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience specifically in solar PV system design .
• Proficiency in using solar design software like PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and Sketch Up.
• Strong understanding of PV module technologies, inverters, battery storage systems, and mounting solutions.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for solar installations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
