About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Remote Chief Metallurgist to lead their metallurgical research, development, and operational support from a fully remote capacity. This senior role is responsible for optimizing mineral processing operations, improving recovery rates, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective extraction of valuable minerals. You will provide expert guidance on process design, troubleshooting, and the implementation of new technologies across multiple mining sites.
This remote position allows you to leverage your extensive metallurgical expertise to influence global operations, drive innovation, and maintain the highest standards of process efficiency and product quality, all from your home office.
- Oversee and optimize metallurgical processes for various commodities, focusing on increasing recovery and reducing costs.
- Develop and implement new metallurgical strategies and technologies to improve plant performance.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for metallurgical plant operations remotely.
- Conduct laboratory test work and pilot plant trials to evaluate process improvements and new methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in all metallurgical operations.
- Mentor and guide junior metallurgists and process engineers across different sites.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in extractive metallurgy, with a significant track record in base metals or precious metals processing.
- Proven expertise in comminution, flotation, leaching, and refining processes.
- Experience with process modeling and simulation software.
- Strong understanding of analytical techniques and quality control in mineral processing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability in remote team management.
