Senior Chemical Engineer - Production

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Chemical Engineer to oversee and optimize production processes at their facility in Centurion . This pivotal role involves leading a team of engineers and technicians to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality chemical manufacturing. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex operational issues, implementing process improvements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. • Manage and direct daily production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for production process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of chemical engineers and operators.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering departments on new product introductions and process modifications.

• Chemical Engineering degree with a strong academic record.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in chemical manufacturing and production management.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• In-depth knowledge of chemical plant operations, process control systems, and safety procedures.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
• Excellent decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
