Our client is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with expertise in industrial machinery to join their forward-thinking company in Richards Bay. This role involves the design, development, and optimization of complex machinery used in industrial applications. Key Responsibilities- Design and engineer robust mechanical systems for industrial equipment, including structural, power transmission, and control elements.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM) using CAD software.
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., stress analysis, kinematics) to validate designs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems.
- Oversee prototype fabrication and testing, analyzing results to refine designs for manufacturability and performance.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of machinery globally.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Significant experience (6+ years) in the design of heavy industrial machinery or complex mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and material handling systems.
- Experience with machine safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
