Industrial Electrical Engineer - Mining Operations

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to support their extensive mining operations in Rustenburg . This hybrid role requires a hands-on approach, combining on-site work with opportunities for remote collaboration and planning. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of critical electrical systems within a demanding industrial environment. This position is vital for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of all electrical equipment and infrastructure, contributing directly to the productivity and success of their North West operations.

• Maintain and troubleshoot high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Oversee the installation, modification, and repair of industrial machinery and control systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential electrical hazards.
• Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and ensure compliance with mining regulations.
• Manage electrical spare parts inventory and vendor relationships for critical components.
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance teams and plant operators.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering, preferably within the mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and switch gear.
• Familiarity with PLC programming, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced operational setting.
