Remote Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking an accomplished Remote Senior Electrical Design Engineer to bolster their engineering capabilities. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex electrical systems for a variety of challenging industrial and commercial projects. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a virtual team.

You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative electrical solutions, contributing to a company culture that champions remote work, technical mastery, and client satisfaction.

• Lead the electrical design process for projects, including schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment, systems, and installations.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations, including load calculations, voltage drop, and short circuit analysis.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure design integrity and project alignment.
• Review and approve electrical designs and submittations from vendors and contractors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical design issues, providing expert technical guidance.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong portfolio of complex projects.
• Expertise in electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems , power distribution, and control systems.
• Familiarity with relevant South African electrical codes and standards.
• Proven ability to lead design efforts and mentor junior engineers in a remote setting.
