Junior Mechanical Designer

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Designer to join their team in Port Elizabeth. This role operates on a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of office-based collaboration and remote work flexibility. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies. • Create and update 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD).
• Assist senior engineers in the design and development of new mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure accurate documentation for engineering changes.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input based on design for manufacturability principles.
• Support prototype development and testing activities, documenting results.
• Maintain and organize design data and engineering documentation.

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related technical field.
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting, preferably with CAD software.
• Proficiency with at least one major CAD package (e.g., Solid Works).
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn and collaborate in a team setting.
