Geophysicist - Seismic Data Analysis

Our client is looking for a skilled Geophysicist to join their exploration team, working remotely with key operations centered around Welkom . This role focuses on the analysis and interpretation of seismic data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs. You will utilize advanced geophysical techniques and software to process, interpret, and integrate seismic data with other geological information. The successful candidate will play a critical role in de-risking exploration opportunities and guiding future exploration strategies in the Free State region and beyond.

• Process, interpret, and integrate 2D and 3D seismic data to delineate subsurface structures and potential hydrocarbon accumulations.
• Utilize advanced geophysical software packages for seismic data analysis, attribute analysis, and inversion.
• Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated subsurface models.
• Conduct seismic hazard assessments and microseismic monitoring interpretation.
• Contribute to the generation of exploration leads and prospect evaluations.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geophysical technology and interpretation techniques.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Exploration Geophysics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in seismic data interpretation, preferably within the oil and gas industry .
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, Hampson-Russell).
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and imaging principles.
• Experience with seismic attribute analysis, AVO, and inversion techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
