Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Mechanical Engineer for a fully remote position, ideal for a professional seeking autonomy and the ability to contribute from anywhere in South Africa. You will play a critical role in the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems within various industrial processes. - Design and develop process equipment and systems, ensuring adherence to safety, efficiency, and regulatory standards .
- Perform detailed mechanical calculations , simulations, and analyses to validate designs and optimize performance.
- Develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and equipment specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in existing process systems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure timely project completion and budget adherence.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process mechanical engineering , with a focus on industrial equipment and systems.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools for equipment design.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and material properties.
- Proven experience in project management and leading engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges in a remote setting.
