Structural Engineer - Industrial Facilities

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to focus on industrial facilities design in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This position involves taking a lead role in the structural design and analysis of complex industrial structures, including process plants, heavy industrial buildings, and material handling systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of these critical structures, working closely with project managers, clients, and construction teams.

• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial buildings, process structures, and heavy equipment foundations.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports using advanced software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., SANS, AISC, ACI), and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, to integrate structural elements seamlessly.
• Conduct site visits for construction support, inspection, and problem-solving during project execution.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors to ensure compliance with design intent.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  Master's degree and professional registration (Pr Eng) are strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a significant portion focused on industrial projects.
• Extensive knowledge of steel and concrete design codes and best practices for industrial applications.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP
  2000, ETABS) and BIM tools.
• Experience with finite element analysis for complex structural systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
