Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy Integration

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their growing team in Stellenbosch , focusing on the integration of renewable energy sources into existing power systems. This role involves critical work on designing, analyzing, and implementing solutions for incorporating solar, wind, and battery storage technologies. You will collaborate closely with project managers, grid operators, and technology partners to ensure seamless and efficient integration.

This hybrid position allows for focused work at home and collaborative engagement in the office, providing a balanced approach to challenging and impactful projects in the renewable energy sector.

• Design electrical systems for renewable energy integration projects, including interconnection studies and system modeling.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and performance analysis reports for solar PV, wind turbines, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
• Collaborate with grid operators and utility companies to ensure compliance with interconnection standards and grid codes.
• Perform site assessments and feasibility studies for renewable energy installations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to renewable energy system performance and grid integration.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and grid integration strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering , with a strong focus on renewable energy systems.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT Power Factory) and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with grid interconnection standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
