Our client requires a skilled Structural Steel Detailer to produce detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel projects, primarily supporting work in the Paarl area, but performed remotely. This role is essential for translating architectural and engineering designs into precise instructions for steel fabricators and erectors. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy and constructability, utilizing advanced detailing software to produce high-quality shop drawings and 3D models.
This is a fantastic contract opportunity for an experienced detailer.
- Create detailed shop drawings, erection plans, and connection details for structural steel components using Tekla Structures or similar software.
- Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness of steel detailing.
- Collaborate with structural engineers to resolve design issues and ensure constructability.
- Generate material lists (BOMs) and CNC data for fabrication.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project specifications.
- Maintain organized project files and manage drawing revisions effectively.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
- Proficiency in 3D structural steel detailing software, such as Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, or similar.
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering calculations and architectural plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
- Good communication skills for effective remote collaboration with engineers and project teams.
