Junior Mechanical Design Drafter

Our client is seeking a meticulous and aspiring Junior Mechanical Design Drafter to join their team in Benoni. You will support the engineering team by creating detailed technical drawings and models for mechanical components and assemblies. You will work closely with experienced engineers and designers, contributing to a variety of exciting product development projects.

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software.
• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other technical documentation.
• Ensure drawings adhere to company standards, industry codes, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Support the engineering team in design reviews by providing clear and accurate visual representations.
• Revise existing drawings based on engineering changes or feedback.
• Maintain organized and updated drawing files and documentation.

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Draughting, or a related field.
• Proficiency with CAD software , such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
