Senior Power Systems Analyst

Our client, a leader in the Energy sector , is seeking a highly analytical Senior Power Systems Analyst to join their fully remote team, supporting operations in the Paarl region. This role is critical for ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the power grid through advanced modeling and simulation. You will play a key role in forecasting energy demand, analyzing grid performance, and developing strategies to integrate renewable energy sources effectively.

• Conduct detailed power system studies, including load flow, stability, short-circuit, and contingency analysis.
• Develop and maintain power system models using industry-standard software for planning and operational studies.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify potential issues, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and recommend strategies for grid expansion, upgrades, and integration of new technologies, including renewables and storage.
• Collaborate with planning engineers, system operators, and project teams to provide technical expertise.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in power system analysis and planning.
• Expertise in power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT Power Factory, EMTP).
• Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Experience with grid integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills, suitable for a remote role.
