Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Metallurgical Manager for a fully remote position. In this role, you will provide expert technical guidance and operational support to various mining and processing facilities across the group. You will be responsible for overseeing metallurgical strategies, driving innovation in processing technologies, and ensuring optimal performance and efficiency from a distance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience in mineral processing, a deep understanding of metallurgy across different commodities, and exceptional skills in remote team management and stakeholder engagement.
This is a critical leadership role contributing to the overall success and profitability of the company's mining operations .
- Develop and implement group-wide metallurgical strategies and best practices.
- Provide remote technical leadership and troubleshooting for mineral processing plants.
- Oversee metallurgical accounting and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and champion opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment for processing operations.
- Mentor and develop metallurgical teams across different sites through virtual collaboration.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and technology providers.
- MSc or PhD in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in metallurgical operations management, with a strong focus on base metals or precious metals .
- Demonstrated expertise in various mineral processing techniques (e.g., flotation, leaching, smelting).
- Proven experience in remote leadership and managing dispersed teams.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in metallurgical accounting systems and performance analysis tools.
