Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with a focus on Structural & Building Projects to join their team in Upington. You will play a key role in the design, analysis, and project oversight of various building structures, ensuring their safety, stability, and adherence to the highest engineering standards. This position requires a strong technical foundation, problem-solving acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects and construction professionals.
Working on diverse projects, you will contribute to the development of the region's built environment.
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types using advanced engineering principles.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Assess existing structures and provide recommendations for refurbishment or reinforcement.
- Ensure all designs comply with current building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis for buildings.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP
2000, ETABS, Prokon) and CAD software. - Solid understanding of concrete, steel, and masonry design principles.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration is advantageous.
