Senior Subsurface Engineer

Our client is looking for a highly competent Senior Subsurface Engineer to join their team near Nelspruit . This integral role focuses on maximizing the value of hydrocarbon assets through expert analysis of reservoir characteristics, production performance, and subsurface uncertainties. You will collaborate closely with geoscientists, production engineers, and drilling teams to develop and execute robust field development strategies. This position offers the chance to apply cutting-edge techniques in a dynamic Oil & Gas environment, contributing to significant projects with a blend of on-site and remote work .

• Develop and manage subsurface models, including static and dynamic reservoir characterization.
• Perform reserve calculations, forecast production, and evaluate economic viability of development options.
• Identify and implement strategies for production optimization and enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
• Assess and manage subsurface risks associated with exploration and production activities.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and present technical recommendations to stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in subsurface engineering, encompassing reservoir, production, and geosciences integration.
• Strong proficiency in reservoir simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of petroleum systems, reservoir management, and drilling operations.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative skills, adaptable to a hybrid role in Nelspruit .
