About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Mining Engineer to lead their technical engineering efforts on a fully remote basis. This senior role involves providing strategic direction and technical oversight for all mining operations globally. You will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring operational efficiency, promoting best practices in safety and sustainability, and mentoring a team of engineering professionals.

- Provide strategic technical leadership and guidance for all mining engineering disciplines.
- Oversee the development and implementation of mine plans, production strategies, and operational improvements.
- Ensure adherence to the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Drive innovation in mining methods, technologies, and automation.
- Manage and mentor a team of senior mining engineers and technical specialists remotely.
- Review and approve major capital expenditure proposals related to mining operations.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mining engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or chief engineer role.
- Proven expertise in both open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Strong understanding of mine planning, design, ventilation, rock mechanics, and processing.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills for remote team management.
- Demonstrated experience in driving operational improvements and implementing new technologies.
