Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to join their remote technical support team, serving operations near East London. This role is vital for ensuring the effective and efficient performance of drilling operations by managing and optimizing drilling fluid systems. You will provide expert technical advice, troubleshoot fluid-related issues, and ensure fluids programs meet safety, environmental, and operational objectives in the Oil & Gas industry.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while maintaining a crucial link to field operations.

• Design and implement drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well objectives and geological conditions.
• Supervise and advise on the management of drilling fluid properties, including rheology, density, and chemical composition.
• Troubleshoot downhole fluid-related problems, such as stuck pipe, lost circulation, and formation damage.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding drilling fluid disposal and management.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and rig site personnel to optimize fluid performance and minimize costs.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a drilling fluids engineer in the Oil & Gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, additives, and systems.
• Experience with solids control equipment and fluid mixing systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
